Last year, Marvel unveiled their film lineup for Phase 3.0. One of the films in that lineup was for an Inhumans movie which was orginially slated for 2018. It was later pushed back to 2019 and now it appears to have no set release date whatsoever.

Marvel’s Inhumans has been pulled from Disney’s release schedule indefinitely.

Since the original announcement for the Inhumans movie in 2014, the Phase 3.0 release schedule has been filled in with Spider-Man: Homecoming (July, 2017), Ant-Man and the Wasp (July, 2018), and Indiana Jones 5 (2019) even though that movie is from their parent company Disney.

“Since we made our initial Phase 3.0 announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us,”Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said. “We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time.”

When asked if the Inhumans film would be ditched altogether, Feige responded with, “No. It’s a question of when.”

The film is still in development but will most likely appear in theaters in either 2020 or sometime afterwards as part of Marvel’s Phase 4.0 lineup. While the Inhumans have already appeared and made their presence known in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, they haven’t made quiet the same impact in the films just yet. It is unknown if this delay will have any affect on the show yet.

Marvel Entertainment has revealed that actor Matthew Willig will play the Inhuman character Lash in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. third season.

An NFL football player-turned-actor, Willig will play the role of major villain the Inhuman Lash, whose was first announced for the show at Comic Con. Marvel describes his character on the show as a “monstrous human whose loyalties remain ambiguous.” Since his time in the NFL, Willig’s many credits as an actor include Cold Case, Chuck, NCIS, The Legend of Korra, Dexter, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Year One, and We’re The Millers.

Lash was created in 2014’s Inhuman #1 by writer Charles Soule and artist Joe Madureira. In the comic books, Lash is one of the new Inhumans that sprang up when the world was flooded with the Terrigen Mist. Lash, hulking beast of an Inhuman, hails from Orollan, a hidden city of Inhumans who believe the bloodline – and those who get exposed to the Terrigen Mists – must be kept pure and kills anyone he considers not worthy of the Inhuman gift. Strong and agile, Lash also has the ability to absorb and expel energy.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Three will premier September 29 at 9:00 on ABC.
