Green Lantern Corps Rumored to Feature Three Human Lanterns

Even though the Green Lanterns did not make an appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros is still currently working on introducing the ring wielding heroes into their DC Cinematic Universe with the upcoming Green Lantern Corps film. Since there are quite a good number of Green Lantern members just from Earth, we weren’t sure which GL’s the movie would be focusing on but now thanks to some rumors we may have now an idea of who will be appearing in the movie.

According to Latino Review, the upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie will feature Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner. It’s unknown if Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, or Simon Baz, the other Green Lantern’s from Earth, will also be featured or at least make an appearance in this film or any other DC movies in the near future.

At the moment, Warner Bros has yet to comment on this rumor nor has any news about who could possibly play these three characters surfaced yet. There has been some speculation for the past year that Tyrese Gibson may be a contender for Stewart but nothing has been confirmed yet. The studio is apparently looking for an actor in the age range of about 45 to play Jordan while Stewart and Rayner will be younger. This could be a way to set up the franchise for a possible “passing of the torch” scenario down the road if the film is good enough to warrant a sequel or two.

Green Lantern Corps is currently scheduled for sometime in 2020 and are expected to make their first appearance in Justice League Part Two in 2019.
