Roster for the X-Force Film Possibly Revealed

In 2013, Kick-Ass 2 writer and director Jeff Wadlow was attached to a pen a script for an X-Force movie. Aside from hearing that the script was praised by Rob Liefeld, the creator of the team, news on the development of the project has been pretty scarce, until now.

A few months ago, artwork from professional conceptual artist Gregory Semkow surfaced online showing his vision for which characters could be appearing on the team that he says was inspired by Wadlow’s script.

“Art inspired by the lineup my friend @JeffWadlow’s #XForce script! Let’s get the word out, we need the movie!” Semkow’s message on twitter reads.

Based on the art, Wadlow’s X-Force would include Cable, team leader and future son of Cyclops; Domino, skilled marksman with probability-altering powers; Warpath, a Native American with super-strength and heightened senses; Cannonball, possessor of jet propulsion and force field abilities; and a hooded mutant who was recently confirmed as Feral in human form. Semkow posted the designs to Twitter back in July and indicated that a groundswell of support from fans could be what the movie needs to get off the ground just like what had happened with the Deadpool movie.

At the moment it is unknown if this is just an early effort by the filmmakers to gain traction from fans to get the long dormant X-Force movie into high-gear and green lit or merely an artist sharing portfolio work that was inspired by a script they may or may not have read. If this is indeed the lineup of characters that is planed for the movie it is also unknown who will be cast as the main characters, who the antagonist(s) will be, or if Booboo Stewart will reprise his role as Warpath from X-Men: Days of Future Past again for this film.

The future of X-Force may still be uncertain, but for now fans of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies can look forward to Deadpool on February 12, 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, and Gambit on October 6, 2016.
